MUSIC
Is there a maximum file upload?
Yes. There is a 250MB limit on music file uploads. If your file is larger than 250MB - we suggest you change the bitrate of the file to make the file smaller. As a suggestion, try 64 bits and set the mp3 to mono - as most 78rpms were recorded monaurally. This will reduce most large files to more manageable sizes.

Can I embed music files featured on this website on my blog or website?
Yes. If you want to embed music from our newer music service, then you can embed quickly and easily by locating the HTML Code for embedding under the music player. For example, the following music track found here features the embedding code, linking code and forum code for use with forums. Just cut and paste the HTML code and paste into your blog or webpage. We'll take care of the rest.
If you want to embed a music track using our older music service - founf here: http://www.78rpmcommunity.com/music then the process is a little more tricky if you're a novice - but give it a go and see how it works for you… Firstly, locate the music file on our website which you want to feature on another blog or website. When you have found it, right click on the title of the music file like so… (Our screenshot below shows the right click menu of a Mac computer for the url for Milfred Bailey - Honeysuckle Rose 78rpm - but the principle is the same for Windows PC) Copy the code below from <object> to </object>, making sure you change the music file url in the code with the one you just copied. In our example, the url for Honeysuckle Rose is: http://www.78rpmcommunity.com/public/music_song/1000000/1000/48/1280.mp3?c=54df but you'll need to remove the final part of the URL from the ? onwards. In this example, you'll need to remove "?c=54df" as this information is not needed.
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="dewplayer.swf" width="200" height="20" id="dewplayer" name="dewplayer">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.78rpmcommunity.com/furniture/media/dewplayer.swf" />
<param name="flashvars" value="mp3=http://www.COPIED_MUSIC_FILE_URL_HERE.mp3" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
</object>
The resulting code will look like this on your blog or website:
The music player on some pages will not show. Why?
The music player will show perfectly in FireFox, Safari, IE 7,8 and 9 as well as Opera if you have the necessary plugins installed.
It also depends on your browser default player plug-in. Try installing the latest version of Adobe Flash player.
If you use Internet Explorer, try this: >> click tools >> Manage Add-ons (and) Ensure Shockwave Flash Object is enabled
